Storing default form for a record

We have several forms for various records, and we'd like to find a way to associate a given record with whichever custom form we want.  For instance, if we had the following invoice forms:

-custom1
-custom2
-custom3

Could I somehow make estimate #1000 open up by default to the "custom1" form, and estimate #1001 open up with the "custom2" form?
