Removing Sub Tabs From Inventory Items Lists???

Here's my problem / Please Help  / When my salespeople use "global search" to find a item to sell.... they like to"drill" down into the part # and from there they can go to the inventory sub tab and view the items cost.  I need to elliminate this "sub tab" but can't seem to do it.  Please Help Anyone
