Using Formulas in Saved Search

I need to create a saved search that displays only the FIRST Case Description. I tried using the formula noted in my previous thread but the field names must differ between CASE and CUSTOMER.
This is the formula I tried but I get ERROR: Invalid Expression.
Field: Formula (Text)
min({messages.message}) keep (_dense rank most recent order by {messages.messagedate})
