Mass Update to change Name on Custom record

edited Jan 3, 2020 1:19AM in Search / Reporting 5 comments

I'm trying to run a Mass Update to update the Name field on a couple thousand custom records.

I check the Name field on the Mass Update Fields tab and define a formula.

I click Preview and it tells me that I need to enter a value for Name.

I enter a value for Name and it deletes my formula (fortuneatly years of being screwed by NetSuite has made me an uncontrollable Ctrl+C'er before any yellow buttons are pressed!)

I re-enter the formula and it clears the Name field.
At this point I stopped and though I'd ask you fine folks if you've encountered this before?  I imagine that updated the Name field has got to be very, very common and someone... at some point MUST have tried to use a formula?
