How do you return the shipmethod "Display Code" in a search?

When printing <nlashipmethod> you get the actual "Display Code" for a shipping item, not the actual name.

When using {shipmethod} in a search, you end up getting the "name"

How do I get the corresponding "Display Code" for a shipmethod in search?

I did notice {shipmethod.ID} returned the internal ID.  I need something like that for the display code
