Saved search automatic email responses. Too many emails listed on search results.

I am trying to write a saved search to automate the process of notifying our customers about a quote we are waiting for approval on. I am trying to send an email directly from the saved search results by using the last email address that we sent the approval to. When I save the criteria and run the search, I get all the recipient email addresses that are in the messages box. Is there any way to restrict the returned email address to be only the last email address that the request for approval was sent to?
