Global Search - HELP!!!

Why is it that only matching case records from 2011 are included in global results?  This is beyond frustrating!  We don't have a custom global search result configured. 

Global Search criteria is "ca: DIS" and expect all cases where "DIS" exists in case title.  Yet global search results only include cases between March 2007 and August 2011.  Thanks in advance!
