The company I work for sells some modular pieces of furniture that can be grouped together in different configurations.

However, there are certain pieces that work together and others that cannot - as they work like pieces of a puzzle. And while in terms of aesthetic the pieces look similar, they won't fit together correctly. So, a customer has a limited capacity to create mix and match looks.

I am looking for a way to create relationships among these items so we can convey the product choices that can be grouped together appropriately. Creating a kit won't work as we don't want to "pre-bundle" the items.
