WARNING - enabling Multi-Location Inventory is dangerous!!!

edited Nov 26, 2019 8:41AM in Accounting / ERP 11 comments

WATCH OUT BEFORE UNDERTAKING YOUR MULTI LOCATION INVENTORY DISTRIBUTION!!!

NS is not very clear about this, but when you enable MLI and do your initial distribution you have just made it impossible to edit or alter any transaction impacting inventory before this date.

That means no amending or creating invoices, receiving goods, issuing credit notes, making shipments, etc. before that date.

This is not well documented - there is a warning in the help guide, but not nearly blunt enough to suggest the scope of the danger...and none on the system itself asking ("are you sure you want to do this...this can't be undone...and prior records cannot be changed subsequently").

Howdy, Stranger!
