Commit Orders Page
Anybody using it (rather than commit on transaction)? Any stories / tips to share?
We have historically committed on transaction (expected ship date) but as a very seasonal business we encounter periods with huge volumes of sales orders with delivery dates 6-8 months out in the future. These "first in" orders tend to block commitment of shorter lead Sales Orders for the same items.
Looks like switching to Commit Orders Page would allow me to "initialize" say the next four months and then keep committing "month 5" (or even week 17) on a rolling basis.
We currently use a custom script that basically uncommits/recommits virtually everything. It works but can take 20 hours to run at peak Sales Order loads (takes less than an hour "off season").
