Income Account on items

I can only use certain GL accounts in the INCOME ACCOUNT field on items, but I need to setup some non-inventory items to post to other GL accounts, for example a current asset account and a current liability account. I know they're trying to stop users from doing dumb things, but I'm an accountant and I need to post some transactions to specific GL accounts for very specific reasons.
EXPAND ACCOUNT LISTS is checked in Accounting Preferences.
Is there any way to break out of this jail?
