Campaigns based off of a Saved Search

I know that there is a way to create a Scriptable template / Advanced PDF/HTML Template to include results from a Saved Search. Is there any way to incorporate the results of the Saved Search in an email marketing campaign, by Customer? We have a search that our reps are currently exporting to Excel, identifying customers to send marketing to from that search (with the content of the search), creating PDFs and faxing/emailing from there. Would be a lot more convenient if we could automate that for groups of customers at a time.

At the very least, I figure, we should be able to link the Customer record to a script that generates the template, but it would be optimal to include it in an email / marketing campaign!
