Customer Credit Card Storage (encripted) and PCI Compliance

Looking to gather data from other NS users on their credit card processing procedure....specifically those that address their process on customers who want us to "keep" their credit card on file, and still maintain PCI Compliance?  Looking to hear responses primarily from those who are going to be, or are currently in PCI Compliance.
