Online form for custom record upload documents

I have a custom record that I was trying to setup an online form for that will be used externally.

I'd like to let people using the form to be able to upload a file with the form, and I'm having trouble figuring out how to do that.

I see on the marketing forms for customers there's a file option, but I don't have that as one of the options on the custom record online form.

I tried to create a document custom field, but that's not showing as an option on the field dropdown either.

Is there an easy way to do this, or a simple script I could add to the form?
