Department restriction

We have a department restriction setup on the role. Is there any way we can remove department restriction for the particular record type. For example. due to department restriction, sales rep can't see transactions which belong to other department but I want to allow to see sales order for other departments but want to restrict all other transactions except sales order. Is this possible in NetSuite?
