Relationships SubList (Sales Orders, Quotes)

Does anyone else find the Relationships SubList strangely configured?

I've had support calls open with NetSuite about this, and they assure me that the current setup is 'by design' (but I can't imagine who designed it this way).

As far as I can see / tell, when you are creating a new Sales Order or Quote, the only option you have in the Relationships SubList is to create a new contact.

Once you have saved the Transaction, you can go to this SubList and then search for an existing contact. (You have to search through all Contacts in your system, not just those for the relevant Customer - but NetSuite have that recorded as an 'enhancement'.
