Are event resources only calendars?

Maybe I don't really understand how resources work, but when I make an event I'm used to putting in all of the resources I need. For instance, if we are hosting a wedding and we need 150 chivari chairs, 10-72" round tables, 10-30" cocktail tables, 20-bar height chairs, 2-portable bars, linens for both, reserving 3 of our rooms. Does that mean I have 195 individual resources on the event? Also, does that mean there are 195 calendars?

If I have 450 chivari chairs for example, do I add them as resources...one-by-one? and just Chivari chairs, I would have 450 calendars?
