Prevent printing closed lines on Transactions

Hello, i am cannot locate any suggestions what would be the best way to prevent printing of closed lines on the sales order transactions. It prints on Custom PDF Layouts and on Advanced PDF templates if line is closed.

I know that Advanced pdf templates can prevent print outs with simple code, just wondering if there are any options for Custom PDF Layouts.
