Changing the posting date on AP invoices

There are several questions buried in this post:

1.  Is it possible somewhere in the set up to change the default in AP so that the posting period defaults to the current period no matter what the invoice date is?

2.  Do you know if when you do a mass posting of AP invoices, it automatically changes the posting date on the invoice to reflect the date of the invoice?
