We have a few 'internal' projects that we would like to track using advanced project management.  We already use projects for our customers/sales.  We want to be able to track internal projects; I.E.
Research and Development Project for a new line of business, meaning costs and time against that specific project.  We also do not want the internal projects to skew our project reporting which is what the challenge is here.

We were considering adding a status called 'Internal' and then validating that 'ALL' the reports had that status removed from their reporting however that is a very large task and will take many people many hours to confirm
