Managing Different Customer Types

Today we have different types of customers:

  • Prospects - organizations who are considering using our products, we may bill them for proof-of-concept work
  • Customer - organizations who use our products, we bill them for use of our products
    • Some of our larger customers have IT service organizations that we bill too
  • Partner - organizations who help our customers use our products, we bill them for support services
  • Vendor - organizations who we generally pay for goods and services, but sometimes we bill them for various reasons
  • Intercompany - cross-charges across the our legal entities

In addition customers can be either:
