How often do NetSuite dashboard portlets auto-refresh?

Hi,

I've added some (custom search) portlets to my home dashboard and the auto-refresh behavior is not quite clear to me. I vaguely remember that the portlets should auto-refresh every 15 minutes but I cannot see anything to that effect in the help center and it doesn't seem to work that way either. Moreover, users have reported that even after logging in afresh, their dashboard portlets did not refresh and they had to manually refresh each one of them.

Can someone please clarify the specified refresh intervals and scenarios?
