Display Amount Paid per Invoice on Customer Statement

Is it possible to show the amount paid per invoice on a customer statement using advanced pdf/html?  We were able to get the Amount/Charge and the Amount Remaining, but the Amount Paid is always null even on invoices where a payment or credit has been applied.
