Restrict Sales from Creating/Editing Customer; allow changes to Ship To Addresses and edit to Leads/

edited Jun 2, 2025 2:22PM in Ask A Guru 3 comments

Our Sales team has access to edit 'Customers' in our production account.

You know where I'm going with this.....

To many times we have had situations where the Sales team 'renamed', 'moved', and otherwise tried to delete (delete not an option in our system) a customer that has history and current transactions applied to them. Insane amount of work to reverse.

I set the custom role to View only on the 'customer' however could no longer create a new lead

How do we allow Sales to create leads & prospects without the ability to edit the customer record?

Is there a way to give Sales access to Shipping address on the customer...  which is needed; without giving them edit on any other field in a created customer?
