workflow to update a transaction from another unrelated transaction

Greetings!!!

Is there a way for a scheduled workflow to accept or read the values on the saved search?   I would like to schedule workflows and update transactions based on other completely unrelated transactions.   These are sales orders that replace previous orders.

So my saved search will contain

DocumentNumber

RepDocNumber

RepDate

I want to update the custom fields ( RepDocNumber, RepDate ) on the transaction (DocumentNumber) with the values from the saved search.

This will run on a schedule.
