Field sourcing can be complicated when working from different records than the ones mentioned in the SuiteAnswers so forgive me for the questions but I've searched extensively and tried over a hundred different configurations of the custom field.
What we would like is to have a custom Customer field that holds a related Opportunity that meets several criteria, the criteria should ensure only one opportunity would be returned.
I created a Custom Entity Field and it Applies to Customer.
It is a List/Record Type and the List/Record is Opportunity.
Regardless of whether I toggle [Store Value] both check and unchecked fail as described below.
I can limit the opportunities using the Filter Using criteria section to get opportunities that meet the criteria but I'm unable to limit the list to just the related Customer. Rather than getting one Opportunity related to the Customer, I get all opportunities related to all customers.
I've tried using the [Source List] = Company and [Source Filter By] = Customer but it doesn't work.
I've also set [Source From] = Company but it doesn't work either.
Also, I've tried putting the relationship comparison in the Filter Using criteria section where [Filter Using] = Customer (and End User) and [Compared To] = Company, and that didn't work either.
This seems like it should be possible.
Thanks for your help!
