Is there a way to create a native popup window using SS2.x?

Hello,

I've been wondering whether there is a way to replicate something like a Resource Allocation creation window or the attached screenshot in SS2.x?

This can be done in SS1.0 using nlExtOpenWindow but I can't seem to be able to find any documentation on this or a SS2.x equivalent.

I tried using the N/ui/dialog module but it's not quite there and it's a bit strange with separate buttons for Suitelet and popup itself.
