Set Project Baseline with workflow (or script)

I can't see any way to automatically set a project baseline using a workflow or a script - does anyone know a way to do this?

I'd like to automate baselines so that they are set when a project moves from one status to another - taking this out of the hands of the users and locking it into our project workflow.

As it is, with baselines at the mercy of forgetful or 'revisionist' staff, they're not very useful.

(i suspect we can hack this with client-side javascript, but i'd prefer not to)
