Bulk Email for an xls file as attachment or html link

I need to set up a weekly email send to a set of customers that contains information that currently resides in an excel file that is posted to the File Cabinet. This file is updated weekly.

I want to set this up to send on a pre-detemined schedule. Can I send the actual file or must i embed the contents within an html link within an email template?
