AP and AR balances clean up

hello all,

If journal entries were posted in prior years in the AR and AP accounts (with no vendor names on the line of journal entries),  how would I deal with putting up-to-date my AP and AR balances. Should I just make a journal entry, and put it either to an expense/income account?
