Creating trend chart for inventory item

Can you please help us in creating a trend chart for an inventory item.
We would like to have purchase price and available stock (inventory) for a particular item.
We have only one item which is a raw material for our products and need to see the purchase price and available stock over a period of time.
How can we do this? Please help
