As part of 2026.1, there was an enhancement to automatically approve reclassification journal entries. However, when the customer runs the feature now, they receive an error indicating that the role requires “Create” permission for Journal Approval.

The complication is that users with this role also create regular journal entries, which must go through the standard approval process. As a result, they are hesitant to increase the Journal Approval permission level for this role.

As per the Oracle Community article titled Urgent Reminder – Action Required: Update Reclassification Journal Entry Approval Status users who have been utilizing the Create Reclassification Journal Entries feature should not be required to modify their role permissions in order for entries to be created in an approved status.
