  • Thanks for your responses, guys. Both of these ideas would work well for me, but I'm not going to do either. I've exhausted the client's budget and both options would take a bit of work to imlpement. Good to know that there are options out there, though.

  • The script only copies the data into the field if I don't get back the string "(Encrypted)" This only happens when the data is changed, when I'm creating the record, for example.

  • To workaround this I have created a free text field and used Client Scripts to copy the data from the password field into the free text field. I then customised the forms to hide the field from any non-administrator users.
