We would also like this ability, as we have customers who are dynamically associate with specific service areas. We are utilizing Issues to notify Custoemr groups within these service areas of troubles. Problem is that the group has to be manually maintained. Anyone else have similar problems or a workaround?

If you are creating the order form the opportunity it won't fill in because it is copied from the opportunity. I think you might misunderstand. I am pretty sure that if there is no owner on the custom record, and box to use permissions is unchecked, then the custom record is available to any role. The point of the warning is that when you add permissions to a custom record, the system warns you that the permissions don't apply…

heck, when you open it in edit and save it right away, it breaks it. One way to avoid this is to use a file for the template. Create and upload your html file to the file cabinet under email templates and reference the file rather than use the embedded text editor.
