  • J, Perhaps you could checkout the Event Viewer log and see if there are any Hints as to the service/dll failure. Rgds, Mark Leon I've done that, and there is nothing. There are several event logs, and I've checked all of them. There is nothing in them to indicate what the problem was. The user in question had Outlook 2003…
  • We have one user on Outlook 2007 with Netsuite integration. One issue we've found is that without warning, Outlook will lock up and has to be terminated from the task manager. There is not an event log that gets generated, so we cannot locate the issue. Others who are using Outlook 2007 without the integration do not have…
  • Well, the release date is closer (This is November) and I wonder if you have more information for us?
  • That may be a solution for most folks, but some vendors we work with have a specific order date each week. During the previous week, we will take orders from customers for those items we don't normally stock due either to price or frequency of sales. Those items are special order only items. It is those items we wish to…
  • OK, so if the saved search returns a qty of 10 items that need to be ordered, you can then navigate to transactions, enter purchase order, and order the 10 from any vendor you choose. alternatively, you can special order the items from the individual orders using the special order link on the SO. Automation is only…
  • That might be a solution if I could then convert the saved search into a purchase order regardless of the vendor involved. I am aware that other systems have this functionality, so it puzzles me why Netsuite doesn't.
  • Jcoffman, WIth all due respect, my friend, you are kind of preaching to the choir. You see, I could not agree with you more. I had a conversation in here not so long ago, regarding the fact that serialized items are all given specific costing, even though specific costing is not one of the global choices for costing…
  • I would agree that it's needed, but at what cost to the user and the person who is programming it? It would be great if Netsuite could give us a report that we press a button to get, or even better allow us to select serial numbers from the fulfillment screen to select the appropriate serial number with the date appended…
  • Are you trying to create a new inventory item and assign a GL account in the item record? Is your Use Account numbers preference set to TRUE? Not quite sure what you mean by "Use Account numbers preference set to TRUE?" in your reply. Basically, prior to this past week or so we were able to just enter the GL account in the…
  • A case has been set up with issue number 128530 for this issue.
  • Quoting from release notes for ver 2007 below - If you use date received as one of the properties this shoulld be feasible. I have not tested yet, but you may even be able to report on it..... Track all the information you need about serial and lot numbers Serialized inventory and lot tracking have received a facelift, to…
  • That would suffice for us. Rather than a long-winded work-around, is this something we could implement here as well?
  • I understand that FIFO is an accounting method. However, we want to insure that the first machine we purchase is the first machine we sell. An example would be if we purchased one group of 10 drills, then purchased a second group of 20 drills when the quantity dropped due to sales. The second quantity of drills would cost…
  • I don't think you are missing something, but NS has Default billing and Default shipping records. We would like to use more than one billing address, and more than one shipping address. An example would be the ABC company has 13 branches. We would like to have 13 billing addresses and 13 shipping addresses in the system…
  • What kind of errors do you get or no errors, just unmapped contacts? Just unmapped contacts. It's very frustrating. Also I did try a subset, but all my links are alphanumeric. The system they are coming from (GoldMine) uses different characters to denote specific numbers. For example, A = 2000, B = 2001, C = 2002, and so…
  • File 1 LinkField,Company Name,... 9877887760AC,"A great company" File 2 LinkField,First Name, Last Name... 9877887760AC,Bob,Smith If you use LinkField as the field to link the files (in both cases), and map the rest, does this create entities that are unrelated? -John In a word, yes. This is exactly what I did, and it…
  • Thanks John: Unfortunately, the field was "hidden" from me, and I discovered this after I posted here. It is again available. Thanks again for your prompt response!:)
  • I was able to use gladstone's suggested work-around from the thread CSV Import - how to connect companies and contacts to import without any problems. The key is to create an independent Mapping ID column in each lead and contact file that maps these two together. For example, if a lead's Mapping ID is 1, the contact…
  • The key is I created an independent Mapping ID column. I did not map the contact's Company field to anything. It's important to not map this because if you map contact's Company to lead's Company Name and you have auto-id generated, you will need to do it in two pass, with the second pass involving importing contacts with…
  • Using the new import map, I am getting an error "Invalid Contact Reference Key" which is the contact's full name. There is very little to help me to resolve this issue. What does that mean, exactly? This is a contact linked to the parent record using the multi-file import. If I knew what it meant, maybe I could correct it…
  • That's an immense help! I'll have a look at that and see if there are any other issues. Thanks for the direction!
  • That helps, a bit, but the problem is that you don't get to the field mapping page until you have already created the import file. It's a bit backwards to the way I normally process imports. That's like this: Get required fields, create import file, map to software (Netsuite), perform import.
  • Please explain "new entity" and to which "menu" do you refer?
  • The problem that you are reporting has already been filed as Issue 135513. Please file a case and have your case attached to this issue if you'd like to track the progress of the issue. Please post the case number generated to this thread. The case number is 669513. Do you have an ETA on the resolution of this issue?
  • I'm just puzzled why it took so long to fix. Thanks for the correction though...
  • I think what Joseph is getting at (and something that I find frustrating) is that in order to de-dupe 2 records that you already know are duplicates, you have to figure out some way to persuade Netsuite that they are duplicates (ie try and find some duplicate detection rule that will work), then you have to go through the…
  • Hello Joseph, Have you tried using Mass Duplicate Record Merge under Lists> Mass Update> Mass Duplicate Record Merge? OR Are you referring to another way of removing duplicates? If it is the latter, kindly explain what specifically are you envisioning to happen. Thanks, Hazel I did not do that because the mass duplicate is…
  • When in the quote, the preparer selects the contact that requested the quote in the first place. We don't have to save the quote to get to the messages tab. If we want to email the quote to the contact, the system brings up the "default" company email instead of the contact's email. It doesn't make sense to send a quote to…
  • If you edit any customer record, there is a "Merge" button on the form. Click it and from there you can merge it with any other customer record. No need to trick Netsuite into thinking they are duplicates. Is that not what you want? Does this "Merge" button depend on what role you are logged into NS? We have tried to see…
  • You should still set up parameters for dup detection (setup->company->dup detection). Then, in the future, you will see a hyperlink in your customer record when in "view"mode warning that there is a possible duplicate record. Clicking on this link brings up a list of possible dupes along with actions you can take to merge…
