OBIEE Catalog backup from Front end

Question

I have OBIEE 11g, we need to create a backup of specific folders from the catalog shared folder. We had tried the shell script approach which takes backup from the Folder location, but that creates .xml, .atr, etc files. May of which cannot be used from front end. Is there any way we can take catalog backup from Analytics (front end)? Something which can be 1) Automated 2) Used by users to restore the catalog backup

Your answer is "archive" / "unarchive" .

You can archive content from the front-end and you can also archive from command line (automated way) by calling runcat.sh .

In the same way you can then unarchive from the front-end or by command line.
