The Fixed Assets - Transactions Real Time subject area does not have a flag to indicate whether an asset is active or retired.

Use Case and Business Need

The Fixed Assets - Transactions Real Time subject area does not have a flag to indicate whether an asset is active or retired.

The subject area has a field for Transaction Type which is at the transaction level and cannot be used to indicate the status at Asset level.
Not having that indicator is actually a significant issue. The problem with not knowing whether an asset is retired vs. active is the fact that if an asset is retired and we are trying to reconcile with depreciation or fixed asset roll-forwards for a given month, those retired assets should be excluded since they are no longer in use.

Having an indicator to know fully retired assets from active assets will help in reconciliation with depreciation or with roll-forward fixed assets for a given month

It will be very helpful to have the indicator showing the assets active or fully depreciated/retired.
