Description

When executing a query in data model , export button by default downloads file in xml format , which makes it difficult to read and share . Even though there is a time extensive work around to create a report out of data model in order to export in excel but its not a good solution.

So ask here is to export the data in multiple formats specially excel.

Agreed. The xml is helpful for the technical development work, but it is required to export the full query data result on excel file.

Data can be exported in excel format as well. By using excel feature click on Data --> From Other Sources --> From XML Data Import

This would convert the XML that is being exported through Data model in table level, you can always utilize this feature

    Hi Nitin,

Yes, I was also looking for this ability. We have using the exported XML as mentioned by Swapnil. But every time when we do this, especially when we are having multiple data model results exported in XML do not render the structure correctly in excel automatically. If we have an option straight away as a single click to export it in excel, it would help us saving lots of time.

Agreed Hari, it really becomes difficult when multiple data sets have output generated with multiple rows for each data sets.

It becomes a cumbersome task to correlate the data.
