Option to create .xlsx output using xls template in BI Publisher

Use Case and Business Need (Required):

When using excel template for generating an Excel file, current option of .xls file is spanning across several tabs when the resultant data is more than 65000 rows. The new sheets created are not having header rows. It is difficult to analyze the data as a whole set. In case if we want to do a pivot on the result set, we need to copy the all data sheets into a new .xlsx file and then only we are able to do any analysis. This is a very time consuming and painful. It would be helpful if there is a an option to generate .xlsx output it will be very useful and helpful.

This would actually require to have .xlsx input template rather than .xls

MosDoc 2152823.1 from June 2016 says it could be considered...

I still support that idea.

Hi Team,

Could you please provide sample logic for generate BIPublisher outputs (PDF, RTF, HTML, EXCEL formats) using Excel template and XML data files are as input in java.

And also please provide jar names which are required for this feature.
