SQL Edit Functionality in OBI Reporting
Description
There is some minor changes of the SQL logic in the existing OBI reporting. Currently there is a remark under the SQL, whereby some of the data or information will be stripped if we create new from the existing SQL as below.
"Important: If you create a new analysis using this SQL, any hierarchical columns, member selection, groups or formatting will be stripped."
The solution provided by Oracle support processor, new analysis must be created even though is just a minor change in the SQL. This is not efficient for us as we need to create again from scratch. Understand the SQL can be copy and paste in order to create a new OBI reporting but we also need to select again all the "Criteria" and "Prompt" which is time consuming and required manual effort.
Use Case and Business Need
If this bug is not fix, manual effort is required to perform to map to the correct value after the report is generated. Since the report is available and was created earlier, we could use from the existing report to make some minor changes in the SQL.
More details
Unable to edit the SQL from the existing report and we need to create new OBI report. This is troublesome and waste of time to create a new report. We hope Oracle to fix this bug for the customer so that we can easily change the SQL from the current report. Service request has been report "SR 3-21716271741 : SQL Issue When Editing"
