Allow option to keep Report Job History when report run via webservices in Synchronous mode

When using runReport() in ExternalReportWSSService the report is not logged as a job in BI. SR 3-26120452191 was logged, but Oracle confirmed that runReport is like running the report interactively. There is no log in the report run history.
There appears to be no other way to run a report synchronously via any web service which will log the execution details and output, should you ever need to see those.
Requesting an enhancement to either provide a new web service or enhance the ExternalReportWSSService to have this option.
Use Case and Business Need
There are scenarios when one might want to see the parameters the report was run, or if you need to see if a report is being used at all. Having the report job history is very useful and would allow us to republish any past report.
