Issue in OBI Catalog with folders getting moved automatically

Hi,

We have seen a strange behaviour where sometimes any random folder in the catalog gets moved under another folder. This happens randomly without any intention. Oracle Support says this cannot happen unless someone accidentally triggers activity but we have seen this does happen.

Has someone else in the community also seen such strange behaviour?

Kiran, We saw couple of months ago where all the subfolders got duplicated suffixed with random alphanumeric characters.  When we checked with Oracle on an SR, they couldn't find the root cause and we closed the SR.

That is strange. We had such an issue, however we were thinking that someone accidentally moved the folder to another folder. I wonder if there is an audit trail on these actions.

Hi Arun,

When we addressed this issue to support via SR but they have been in a denial mode to accept this as an unexpected behaviour. Since they do not have any auditing setup they are say that some developer activity could have mistakenly caused the folder movement.

We were also being informed that our observation may be the only such example occurred or reported before.

Hence, we posted this on Customer Connect to check if there are other clients who are also facing such strange issues.

Hi,

We ran into similar issue, where developers accidently moved folders in our zone. I have submitted a idea lab request to Oracle to provide some kind of warning message prior to move of folders. https://appsconnect.oracle.com/posts/abe49c27e6
