Summary

How can I let users drill into a number that takes them to a 2nd compound layout on an analysis?

Content

Hello,

I have an analysis that I plan on making into a dashboard. I have 2 compound layouts. On the first one is a summarized pivot of the data. I want my users to be able to drill into the number and have it take them to additional details on the 2nd compound layout. Is that possible? I've attached a screenshot.

Thanks,

Stephanie

I've provided a screenshot of the steps to take below.  On the Criteria tab, select Column  Properties on the field you want to link from, click the Interaction tab, under Value select Action Links as the Primary Interaction, click add and then select the appropriate action (Navigate to BI Content).  From here you'll just need to select the analysis you want to drill to.  In the drilled down analysis, any filters added as "is prompted" will carry over from the drill down.

Above solution works if you have two separate analysis. Is it possible to use an action link to a different view (including the passing of parameters to prompt) within the same analysis, in a dashboard?

My use case is same as OP, I have an analysis with two views. One is the pivot and other is the detailed view. I want users to be sent to the detailed view showing the (in my case) invoices that were in the set of values that was clicked in the Pivot table.

    Kind regards,
