Ability to Revert System wide default column properties

Here we have defaulted changes applied on column Properties applied by selecting "Save as the System-wide default for this data type"
 As this changes column properties of all the column irrespective of folders or reports.
 In this again if we apply default settings it over writes the column properties of other reports(for which we have set column properties as per the requirement).

This needs again all manual efforts to apply changes again.

Use Case and Business Need

In order to avoid re-work we are looking for some option to revert back the default setting applied at system-wide for specific data type.

The recommendation has always been to use the  "Save as the System-wide default for this data type" option VERY SPARINGLY unless one is very clear of its impact, which may extend to 100's of columns in an implementation. If I understand correctly, the ask here is to provide an automated means to revoke the system wide changes already made and restore it to their initial customized state. Sorry it is highly unlikely that it will be taken up.

In any case, I am moving this to the OBIEE Idea forum since this relates to pure platform
