Connect PowerBI and other data analytic tools to Oracle Cloud BI Publisher/OTBI

Organization Name
Euronet Payment Services
Description
Oracle Business Intelligence does not allow for users to connect their databases with external analytics tools such as PowerBI and Tableau, instead locking the data from their systems behind their own internal tools. Our organization obviously does not use Oracle products to store all of our information, and like 99% of companies stores data in SQL Server tables. To be able to create automatic reports combining this information would greatly increase the utility of these products, and it would behoove Oracle to allow their customers to connect programs via drivers or clients.
Use Case and Business Need
Create reports combining employee data with company data to measure employee performance requires manual downloads and uploads, making live reports unavailable

Our organization is also struggling with the desire to use Power BI (or other tools) to report on data in the OBIEE data warehouse. Although we have created custom tables to load data into our data warehouse from other sources, allowing end users access to BI data through other front end tools remains a challenge. Providing connectors for such needs would be very beneficial and allow our organization to leverage all the data and tools that our business needs. Having to deploy custom code for connecting these tools is difficult and expensive to maintain.

Graham & Kim,
How do you currently extract Fusion data to interface with your 3rd-party BI systems?

Hi Ling,
Currently we must download an Excel (or CSV or other formats) from OBI, which is a hassle for many reports due to formatting and makes for the inability for true live reporting. In general I think it would make the product far more accessible to connect 3rd party software, as the trend in BI is aggregating data often from various sources, not simply keeping it locked behind one particular interface

Do you download Excel from BI Publisher or OTBI reports?

We could probably use this as well, since we also have the need for a full view of data (including data not present in Oracle Service Cloud).

We also need to combine data from different sources into one report. This is now stopping us from having real time data to work with.
