OACS - FIN and HR - Mass Upload/Migrate Application Roles

Organization Name
Southern
Description
Hi,
We are using OACS Classic and OACS DV. We are currently on Version 5.8 going to Version 5.9 in January 2021. We have IDCS enabled environments. The roles and role assignment flow from FA to OACS via IDCS is working correctly. We are able to create OACS roles manually (application roles) and map them to FA roles via Groups in the "Users and Roles" console.
We have over a 100 role and it is currently a manual effort to create the application roles E2E. We are considering building an UI Path bot to:
a. Create the custom Application roles from an excel doc to the UI
b. Assign the delivered OACS roles to the custom Application Roles
c. Map the Custom Applications roles to their corresponding Groups (roles flowing from FA)
However, it would be create to:
a. Have a file based upload process directly to the "Users and Roles" dashboard
b. Have the ability to extract the security components and upload them to another environment (i.e. DEV to SIT)
c. Have a validation report that all roles were created successfully from above processes
As of today, the manual effort of 110 roles takes 2.5 hours per applications and is prone to human error
Use Case and Business Need
a. Reduce manual setup of application roles in OACS
b. Migrate applications roles between DEV to SIT to UAT (and possibly PROD)
c. Reduce human error
More details
a. It is a manual process to create custom application roles in "Users and Roles" dashboard
b. An API approach will reduce time and reduce human error between applications (i.e. create components in CSV then mass upload)
