Description

In the existing BI sending CSV output via email communication channel is not feasible. This is common requirement we have across with multiple vendors. We are achieving the same via FTP as delivery channel and integration tools which is not accepted by any of the client.

Use Case and Business Need

Send csv output via email communication channel. The requirement is to send csv file as an attachment in an email. The same output can be sent via email in text format. Unable to satisfy the need of business as the BI bursting have the limitation on csv o/p the csv o/p can be send if the communication channel is FTP.

Created BI with template type as E-Text and bursting logic to split the data and send the output in csv format via email. is ignoring csv output type when the communication channel is email.

We have also created SR  to send csv output in required format via email communication channel. For more details, please refer to SR 3-25941258751.

More details

The current product is not meeting our requirement as we need output in a specific format as defined in template but we are unable to get it using either online viewer or email bursting.

    This would allow for our business to be able to directly interface with our customers instead of requiring an end user to first change the extension of the file from a TXT format to a CSV format before emailing to the customer for payment.

    This feature is very much needed to support our requirements in the BI area, and reduce effort in additional development.  The current workaround to achieve the required csv file format for customers,  requires our users to manually update the file before emailing. This reduces efficiency in our business process.
