There may be times when the many ready-to-use data models provided in Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse (FAW) don't fully cover the extent of the reporting you want to do. Fortunately, FAW is highly customizable and allows you to create custom data models using the semantic model and any externally sourced data source. This requires an administrator user role to access all the tools and configure the proper connections, but it is both very much possible and not at all that difficult.

To help you learn how to go about creating a custom data model using the FAW Extensibility Framework, we have published a case study: Using The Fusion Analytics Extensibility Framework to Create a Custom Data Model.
