Hi,

I was wondering if there is any way to place an reset button on BIP to revert all the parameters back to defaults.

Once any parameters are set, all need to be removed to get back to their default parameters.

    Hi @Sunghpark,

    An enhancement request (Enh 18531334 - "ENHANCEMENT: DISABLE APPLY BUTTON CLICKING AND RESET PARAMETERS IN LAYOUTS") created with internal visibility has been addressed on BI Publisher version 11.1.1.6 with the following scenario:

    Once select the template, User wants to selects a layout, then select the parameter. If the users select TemplateB, they should be able to use separate parameters to the select second layout instead of it taking the parameter values from the first template.

    So the parameters for TemplateA do no cascade to TemplateB.

    Note: The current status of the enhancement is closed by not being feasible to be implemented.

    We strongly encourage you to raise new Ideas. Oracle has launched a new initiative to capture Publisher related Enhancement Requests (ER) in My Oracle Support Community for Oracle Publisher products. This new process comes in an effort to be more transparent with product improvement ideas and to build a closer, collaborative environment with the Oracle Customer.

    We are interested in your requirements and we want to expose them to other customers so we get the leverage of all the customer requirements regarding this capability. The Product Strategy team would appreciate it if your organization would enter an Idea in the Idea Lab for Publisher related products using this link (https://community.oracle.com/customerconnect/categories/idealab-oracle-analytics-cloud-and-server ). Please document the business requirement as completely as possible.

    NOTE: How To Create An Enhancement Request In Idea Lab For Oracle Analytics (Doc ID 2662737.1) contains complete details about how the enhancements are handled via MOS. We promote customer to use Idea Lab to submit their Ideas, vote & comment in support of posted Ideas

    The Strategy team will be responsible for tracking and responding to any Enhancement Requests based on a pre-defined threshold.

    The voting process will raise visibility of popular ideas, and determine those Enhancement Requests that the customer base collectively deems valuable to the product.

    Thank you,

    Simona

    May I expect that the logged Enh 18531334 would place Reset button on the parameter panel?

    Hi @Sunghpark,

    The Enh 18531334 is closed as not being feasible to be implemented on BI Publisher version 11.1.1.6.

    You might need to create a new idea in order to address the feature requested on the BI Publisher version you are currently using. The enhancement request will be evaluated either it is incorporated into the product, or it is deemed not feasible.

    Thank you,

    Simona

    Could you please let me know how to review the BI Publisher version I', currently using on my end?

    After checking that, I'll raise another enhancement request on my BIP version.

    Hi @Sunghpark,

    You could identify the BI Publisher version by using one of the following methods:

    1). OAS (Analytics+BI Publisher standalone), access the path:

    $Oracle_Home/bi/modules/oracle.bi.versions

    Open “version.txt” file:

    E.g. version is 6.4

    oa_platform=6.4.0.0.0-20220222231819.715

    WebLogic_Server_for_FMW=12.2.1.4.0-190912.1920.645

     2). BI Publisher standalone, access the path:

    $Oracle_Home/bi/bifoundation/version.txt

    3). Run opatch lsinventory

    4). Verify the build version of the BIP application in a browser:

    In a browser bring up the BI Publisher application login screen (by entering the xmlpserver URL, e.g. host:port/xmlpserver)

    - don't login yet

    - from the browser's toolbar go to View > Source (if IE) or View > Page Source (if Firefox)]

    - this resulting source page will indicate the BIP version and build number

    Thank you,

    Simona

    In addition, there is a different method which applies to only OAS(Analytics + BI Publisher) install type, this method will not provide the build.

    I'm afraid I can't reach the URL you provided, because I'm working in Fusion Cloud Modules.

    Could you let me know how to reach the BIP version info in Fusion Cloud?

    Best Regards,

    Gave it one more try, I was able to get the source code below

    <link href="/xmlpserver/static/v20230818.1906/theme/alta/master/master.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />

    Is v20230818.1906 the versin info I'm looking for?

    Thanks.

    I got another version string at the bottom of the source like the follows

    Oracle Analytics Publisher 12.2.6.1.7 (Build 20230818.1906)

    Is it correct version info I'm searching for?
