Users can only input single line of texts on a Free text field parameter.

As per BI Publisher documentation, you could enable the "Text field contains comma-separated values" in order to pass multiple values as comma separated string.
Text field contains comma-separated values - Enables the user to enter multiple comma-delimited values for this parameter. The parameter in your data source must be defined to support multiple values.
